For TABC, Kirschenbaum also came in third place in the 800-meter run and Avishai Jutkowitz captured third place in the 200-meter dash. They each received bronze medals for their efforts. In leg order, Yehuda From, Ezra Alter, Gilad and Avishai represented the TABC team for the final event—the 4X100-meter relay race. They finished with the second-fastest time out of six schools.
RKYHS’ Mendelson also anchored the boys’ 4 x 100 relay team which prevailed over six competing squads. Hanoch Elkin, Jonah Klein and Aidan Koresh rounded out the relay quartet, known as Kushner Blue, that bested the TABC team by a half-second. Elkin also captured bronze in the Boys’ 100 meter race.
Kushner’s East’s win in the girls 100-meter final was her fourth consecutive win in Yeshiva League competition dating back to the previous meet held on May 9, during which she achieved a remarkable “hat trick” by capturing the 100-, 200- and 400-meter races in the same meet. Her streak was broken by a second place finish in the 200-meter championship race.
