On Tuesday, August 6th, Areyvut and Moshava Ba’ir, with the help of The Frisch School, held the 3rd Annual Kayitz Classic, a 3-on-3 basketball tournament. The tourney was won by the threesome of Avi Kaye, Ike Pariser and Mo Pariser
Areyvut, a non-profit organization based in Bergenfield, NJ, runs programs for children and teens to facilitate their involvement in chesed, tzedakah and tikkun olam. One such program, Mitzvah Clowning, trains participants and visit senior citizens, children with special needs and others in need every month. Moshava Ba’ir located on the beautiful Frisch school campus in Paramus, NJ offers a wonderful day camp experience along with entry to the lifelong values of Bnei Akiva. Campers entering kindergarten through 5th grade develop meaningful relationships and grow socially, religiously and personally. Moshava Ba’ir relates to every camper with respect and love, and their well-rounded programming balances the importance of learning to be part of a kvutza (bunk) and community with the opportunity to develop individual skills, talents and abilities.
For Rabbi Menachem Hecht, Director of Moshava Ba’ir, “The Kayitz Classic is a way for our staff and camp community to work together for a common goal. It’s a lot of fun seeing staff, parents of campers and members of the broader community engage in a friendly competition.”
According to Daniel Rothner, Founder & Director of Areyvut, “Every year, this event is a wonderful way to bring the community together and have a great time while supporting two important communal organizations.”
Areyvut and Moshava Ba’ir have come together for the past three years in order to create unity in the community and support their important work. Proceeds from Kayitz Classic will go to support Moshava Ba’ir’s scholarship fund and Areyvut’s Mitzvah Clown programs. Contributions are still being accepted.
