4G-JSU Cohort Hosts Incredible Shabbaton

The 4G-JSU NCSY Cohort has been one of the most inspiring experiences for me. This program pairs Jewish day school girls with public school girls to learn together on a weekly basis. In doing so, each of these girls has the opportunity to become acquainted with girls from different backgrounds. This past Shabbos the cohort hosted a 4G-JSU shabbaton in Teaneck, and several JSU girls joined their 4G chavrusas for a very meaningful Shabbos together.

All meals were eaten at local families, including the home of Rav Moshe Tzvi Weinberg on Friday night, where we had a wonderful tish and of course, Torah learning to end the night. On Shabbos day, at the Eizikowitz home, we had the privilege of hearing from our JSU chavrusas on what public school has been like post-October 7, and all that we can learn from the strength and connection to Judaism with the challenges that they’re experiencing.

We then met up at the Ohr HaTorah beit midrash to learn together, in person, b’chavrusa, and concluded Shabbos at the Pfeiffer home with seuda shlishit for both fun games and personal reflections on the incredible impact the cohort has had on us for the past 12 weeks. After Shabbos we celebrated Lag B’Omer 4G-style with a bonfire and inspiration at the Rubenstein home.

This past Shabbos was truly uplifting, transformative, and a genuine testament to the achdut that we so need right now to bring Moshiach!
