Texas Christian University (TCU): Bermont Family Undergraduate Jewish Student Scholarship

The Bermont Family Undergraduate Jewish Student Scholarship is provided by a 1967 TCU graduate, Mr. Peter Beaumont. He developed the scholarship to promote religious diversity on campus and to support students who will become an active part of religious life at TCU. 

This scholarship is only available to undergraduate students of the Jewish faith. Student applicants with financial need, according to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), are given preference. Bermont scholars must enroll as full-time students and the amount of this scholarship varies from year to year. 


Portland State University: Harold Schnitzer Family Scholarship 

The Harold Schnitzer Family Scholarship is through a grant from the Harold and Arlene Schnitzer Family Fund of the Oregon Jewish Community Foundation. Students applying for this scholarship must pursue a BA in Judaic Studies, have a 3.0 GPA, and engage in community service. 

Scholars need to submit an application, a high school transcript, two letters of recommendation, and a 500-word essay. Scholars receive up to $7,000 per year for up to four years.

Students who want to go to Trinity College can apply for the Hillel Leadership Scholarship. Academic performance, commitment to the Jewish community and the desire to continue studying at Trinity determines eligibility for the scholarship. 

The student awarded this scholarship will become part of the committed Jewish community on campus. They take part in cultural, educational, social and religious programs of their choice in areas of Jewish life. The amount offered to scholars is $20,000, and this is renewable for up to four years based on an annual review.
