Bruriah Lightning opened the 2015 soccer season with a road win at Frisch. Led by senior captains Nikki Bick (senior, Edison) and Rivka Gutmann (senior, Passaic), the Lightning scored at the 5-minute mark in the first quarter on a goal by Michal Hyman (senior, Teaneck). The Lightning scored again at the 5 and 8-minute marks in the second quarter on goals by Hyman and Avigayil Wiener (senior, Teaneck) to give them a 3-0 lead. Frisch scored shortly before the half ended and the Lightning took a 3-1 lead into the lockerroom. Ilana Markowitz (sophomore, Bergenfield) opened up the second half with two goals for the Lightning. Frisch answered with a goal in each of the third and fourth quarters before Bick scored the Lightning’s final goal of the match to give Bruriah a 6-3 victory. Goalies Frayda Glucksman (senior, Passaic) and Gutmann combined for 22 saves.
