Joy and Al Amsel Memorial Annual Community Biur Chametz Event and Fire Prevention Educational and Recreational Program.  Fire Safety Trailer for Exciting Learning Experiences – Free Fire Safety Souvenirs – in partnership with the Teaneck Fire Department, Jewish Community Council, RCBC, Streit’s Heichal Hatorah, Ohr Saadya, RInat Yisrael and Young Israel of Teaneck.  Chametz for burning should be placed in paper bags only.  Nothing will  be accepted in plastic bags.  Latest time for burning chametz is 11:40AM.

Keter Torah Children’s Program  11:AM- 1:00PM  600 Roemer Avenue

Children in Pre- K through fourth grade.  Scavenger  hunt, amd crafts. Children will be painting pillow cases and Afikomenbags with permanent paint, must bring smock, $120 per child – space is limited – reservations required at [email protected]

This 2008 movie depicts the story of the Bielski Partisanss who saved over 1,200 Jews in Belarus  during the Second World War.  The showing is Free.    Robert Bielski , the youngest son of Tuvia Bielski the leader of the partisans will be speaking on Yom Hashoah, April 16th at the Jewish Community Center as well.  304 East Midland Avenue Paramus

Thursday, April 16th

The Jewish Community Council of Teaneck  7:30PM   invites everyone to a Survivors and Survival, a special observance of Yom Hashoa, Holocaust Memorial Day, on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Teaneck High School.   Keynote speakers this year are Howard and Nancy Kleinberg who first met in Bergen-Belsen Concentration Camp where Nancy saved Howard’s life.  Their story of survival and reunion is nothing short of a miracle. A pre-event reception honoring the survivors in our community will be held, marking the seventy-sixth anniversary of the start of the Shoah.

As part of the Jewish Community Center of Paramus/Congregation Beth Tikvah Annual Yom Hashoah Memorial service, Robert Bielski will speak about his father and uncles, the Bielski partisans, who saved over 1,200 Jews during the Second World War.  All are welcome to attend this free program.
