Rae Kushner Yeshiva High School students were fortunate to hear an eye-opening talk last week from Jacy Good. At 23, Jacy Good was at the top of the world. On the day she graduated from college, she and her family celebrated her achievement—until their joyous day was cut short by a car accident caused by a young man on his cell phone. Her parents were killed and Jacy was given a 10 percent chance of survival. The accident left her partially paralyzed and with permanent brain damage. The teenager driving was not convicted, because at the time there were no laws against being on your phone while driving. In response to this life-changing event, Good now spends her time speaking around the world, lecturing about the dangers of distracted driving due to talking on your phone and texting behind the wheel.
