After an exciting season, the Yeshiva Middle School Sports Association’s Boys Soccer playoffs came to a close at TABC on Sunday night, June 14. Yeshivat Noam—which earned a spot in the championship game following a decisive semi-final win over Yavneh—faced off against Moriah, which topped Ramaz in an overtime thriller in its semi-final game.

Noam suffered its only defeat of the season at the hands of Moriah on May 19, and now came out strong and ready to play. Yechiel Keiser put Noam on top 1-0 when he put the ball in the net near the end of the first period. Keiser, who also added another goal, played a terrific offensive game, as did Yonadav Rimberg and Joe Baron—each of whom scored for Noam—and Natan Neugroschl, whose brilliant play kept the Moriah defenders busy all game long. They were aided by Noam’s stellar defensive line, which was anchored by Dylan Breen, Natan Rifkind, Ozzie Jeselsohn and Zachary Wolf. As has been the story the entire season, Noam goalie Avraham Kahan was absolutely spectacular in net and his acrobatic saves kept Moriah off the board until they scored towards the end of the fourth period to make the final score 4-1.

When the final buzzer sounded, the Noam players and fans stormed the court as they celebrated their championship win, culminating a magical inaugural season for the Yeshivat Noam boys soccer team.
