Union County Eruv Gets the OK

(Courtesy of Bris Avrohom) The committee of the Eruv of Union County met with Union County Manager Edward Oatman and his assistant, Amy Wagner, to obtain permission to make an eruv and give the growing communities in Linden, Roselle, Rahway, Cranford and Clark the ability to carry on Shabbat. Rabbi Mordechai Kanelsky facilitated the successful meeting.

As per Jewish law, a transaction of $1 was given by the committee to the county for their consent to construct the eruv. The county manager signed the resolution granting authorization. This will now allow the young families living in Union County to gather with friends or enjoy the local parks, thereby enhancing their Shabbat.
