Four Brisim Performed in Ukraine With Bris Avrohom Support

(Courtesy of Bris Avrohom) With the ongoing devastation taking place in Ukraine, many people fled to Chernovtsy, where Rabbi Mendel Glitzenstein serves as the emissary of the Rebbe.

Rabbi Glitzenstein was instrumental in providing the refugees with food and shelter. He also coordinated a summer camp for the children, which was extremely successful.

On Sukkot, many people came to celebrate the holiday at Rabbi Glitzenstein’s shul. It is customary in all shuls to sell pesukim of Ata Horeisa as well as the hakafot to raise money for the shul. Rabbi Glitzenstein did something unique and “sold” these honors for mitzvot. Amazingly, five people undertook to have a bris in exchange for the honor of a Sefer Torah on Simchat Torah.

The following Friday, on the yahrtzeit of the Ruzin Rebbe, a mohel who traveled with mesiras nefesh for 24 hours came to perform the bris for these five people.

Rabbi Glitzenstein contacted Bris Avrohom to ask for its support. Bris Avrohom graciously and with a full heart covered all the expenses.

Rabbi Mordechai Kanelsky expressed mazel tov to the people who made the bris, the rabbi, the mohel and to all the supporters of Bris Avrohom who continue to support the rescue mission in Ukraine.
