Coming off a jam-packed season, the Fair Lawn B’nai Brith softball league started their playoffs with 11 teams looking to make some noise. Playing in their new and improved double elimination format, seeds 8, 9, 10 and 11 found themselves on the outside, playing into the bracket. Seeds one through 8 enjoyed the luxury of automatic double elimination. From the outset the games were tough and unpredictable, with the 11th place team pulling an upset to enter into the bracket. The last few weeks have featured some surprises and close games with only two undefeated teams remaining and four still alive for a shot at the title. The LINKS and Moyals will face off in a matinee match-up with a chance to earn a birth in the finals. The Noshers (last year’s champs), Beisballers, Bombers and Golems face off for a chance to stay alive. Will it be a repeat or will a new champ be crowned? Only time will tell in the coming weeks as the playoffs continue to intensify.
