Camp Dora Golding Camp Reporter, End of the Summer Report

Hi there! It’s Daniel Goldstein from Camp Dora Golding, reporting for the very last time in 2015.

The last two weeks have been a complete whirlwind, there is no other way to describe it. So many happenings, that the jam-packed camp schedule would fill all the pages of this newspaper. Let me share with you just a few absolute goodies…

CDG’s night activities are world-renowned (yes, the Chinese are talking about them); every night we eagerly await what the staff has in store for us. Last week included a camp-wide scavenger hunt; it was a night filled with mystery, intrigue, creativity and some serious exploration à la Sherlock Holmes style. Oh, and I can’t forget the night John Cassidy of “Balloon Freak Show” fame came to visit. His performance was peppered with magic and comedy and included some mighty crazy, weird balloon creations. It’s no wonder that he holds several Guinness World Records for balloon sculpting including the Most Balloon Sculptures Completed in One Hour and the Fastest Balloon Sculpture!

Another of CDG’s claims to fame are the out-of-this-world camp trips. Last Wednesday, the camp rented out Aquatopia, Camelback Resort’s brand-spanking-new indoor water park. Aquatopia claims to be “The Biggest Indoor Waterpark in the Northeast” but of course we had to check it out ourselves. My friends and I were splishing, splashing, sliding, jumping, crawling and literally flying all over the place.

Before I check out, I must also tell you about the action-packed, no-time-for-breathing grand trip we went on last week. Now, it wasn’t just a grand trip; it was about 10 different trips rolled into one stupendous trip of a lifetime. Literally, no exaggerations! From paintball to skating and bowling, the trampoline park to swimming and, of course, Hershey Park. Oh, and get this, I rode in a gigantic blown-up ball down a ski mountain!

I think that’s all for now, I’ve got to make the most of the last week of CDG for 2015. I will definitely be back next year, I wouldn’t miss it for the world!

It’s been great reporting for you this year,

Daniel Goldstein
