(Courtesy of Rosenblum Law) Everyone knows they need an estate plan, but it can sometimes feel difficult to complete. At Rosenblum Law, we use a combination of technology and step-by-step guidance to have your estate plan created in just a few hours of your time. Here’s how:
Gathering Your Information
The first step to a good estate plan is gathering your information. This will include information on your assets, income, family details and healthcare preferences. At Rosenblum Law we have simplified the process of gathering all of this info through the use of a custom client portal and questionnaire that can be completed at your own pace. You can leave and return to the portal to continue filling in the information as you please.
Gathering all of this information and contemplating how your affairs should be handled upon your passing can be difficult. When you work with an estate attorney, they will guide you through this process and answer any questions that may arise as you progress.
Deciding on an Estate Plan
After you gather all of your information, you’ll need answers to several questions about your estate, such as whether it is taxable or how minor children will receive assets. You may have even more specific questions about things like how to protect your estate from the creditors of your heirs or how to align your secular estate plan with halacha.
When you work with us we’ll sit down with you to discuss your specific circumstances and your goals for the estate plan. Our attorneys will ask you pointed questions and keep an ear open for any potential issues that may arise based on your unique circumstances.
Putting the Estate Plan Into Effect
You’ve created the estate plan. Now what?
The estate plan needs to be signed in front of witnesses and a notary. Sadly, many people make it all the way to this point but never get the documents properly executed.
At Rosenblum Law we take care of all of this for you by arranging a signing ceremony in our offices, where we make sure that all parts of your estate plan are signed in accordance with state law and stored and distributed in a manner that will ensure that they actually are available and followed when the need arises.
We are there for you every step of the way, making sure that the estate plan you desire is created in accordance with your wishes and without a huge time commitment on your part. It would be our honor to assist you in creating a plan for your estate.
