WDS students in grades k-fifth grades visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art to complete this year’s Learning to Look curriculum. This year students studied American Art from colonial times through the 1800s. They visited the American Wing of the museum where they were fortunate to see the works that were studied on display. Students enjoyed noticing the details of the paintings and seeing the masterpiece paintings that were now familiar to them. The highlight of the trip was seeing the enormous canvas of “Washington Crossing the Delaware” by Emanuel Leutze in real life!
