Moshava Ba’ir MetroWest Has Fabulous First Summer

Moshava Ba’ir MetroWest kicked off its first summer ever and it could not have been better! The summer could not have been so successful without the tremendous support from the community welcoming Bnei Akiva as it opened the fifth branch of Moshava Ba’ir at the beautiful Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy campus.

Baruch Hashem for the amazing staff who helped build such a fantastic program and create the atmosphere of what it means to be at camp. The ruach and energy was non-stop and filled the campers with joy and excitement every single day. Lunch time dance-parties were a common sight at MBMW!

At Moshava Ba’ir, chanichim like to have a wide array of different activities. Campers would visit the petting zoo in the gan chayot room or catch some zen in yoga. They built amazing projects in arts and crafts that they would take home every week and work on their quick thinking skills in drama. They baked some delicious treats in cooking and brought home the Moshava Ba’ir Cookbook at the end of the summer to have all of the recipes. The sports and leagues allowed the campers to play with a healthy sense of competition. With the gorgeous weather that was around all this summer, campers went swimming in the pool to cool off, build their skills and even learn to swim for the first time!

MBMW incorporates its chinuch program into everything done at camp. The weekly chinuch themes focused on the early kings of Bnei Yisrael and the impact they had on us as a people. Chesed week gave campers an opportunity to reflect and act to help out those in need as thyee wrote cards for the Jewish Relief Fund and ran a tzedaka drive. Every Friday, they end off the week with a camp-wide oneg Shabbat with inspirational singing and dancing.

Campers went on many fun trips from glow-in-the-dark mini golf to Skyzone, the Turtle Back Zoo and Alstede Farms. They had fun in house shows with power, bible players, Dr. Shnitzel and more!

The summer culminated at the final carnival as the campers got to show off at mifkad where they sang “Hatikva” and “Yad Achim” together with all the parents and relatives that joined in.

Thank you again to everyone who helped make this inaugural summer so successful!

Everyone is looking forward to MBMW summer 2023!
