Bruriah High School and Middle School students participated in Bruriah’s incredibly meaningful annual Tehilimathon during Aseres Yemei Teshuva. The Tehillimathon began with an inspirational video on the power of our words, and students focused on how to channel that power into their tefillos. Each student received the name of someone to daven for, as a refuah sheleimah, for a shidduch or l’ilui nishmas. Each student recited her own perek of Tehillim, thereby enabling the school to complete sefer Tehillim together numerous times.
Kayla Goldstein, Bruriah alumna and current faculty, spoke beautifully about her own experience as a student participating in the Bruriah Tehillimathon. She shared that Bruriah alumni all over the world still feel connected to their special perek of Tehillim from their own Tehillimathon and they carry it with them for the rest of their lives. The funds raised at this year’s Tehillimathon, in honor of Bruriah’s amazing faculty, will support student scholarships. Bruriah students as a group have been focusing on the midah of hakaras hatov, specifically to their teachers, and therefore it was only fitting that the Tehillimathon took place on the erev of the yahrzeit of Bruriah’s legendary principal, Chaya Newman, a”h. It was a tremendously powerful and moving experience, and students left the program inspired for the days ahead.
