The vibrant sound of learning filled the classrooms and hallways of Yavneh Academy on the Friday morning prior to Sukkot, as older and younger students in grades one through eight joined together for an inter-grade learning program. Students learned about the seven special guests we welcome to our sukkah—the Ushpizin. They shared ideas of how to best welcome guests into our sukkah and discussed how inviting guests contributes to our joy of the holiday and the ideal of Jewish unity. The program ended with students creating a beautiful sukkah decoration. Sukkot music was played throughout the school as the smiling students returned to their classrooms.
