This past Monday, BPY students in pre-k through second grade participated in special fire safety assemblies led by firefighters from the Paramus Fire Department. Through interactive, age-appropriate activities, the children were introduced to elements of fire safety, such as recognizing fire alarms, safely exiting a building and how to stop, drop, and roll. The students learned about the firefighters’ protective gear and equipment and also explored a real fire truck. Elementary school students continued with the theme of safety throughout the week, learning about different safety topics each day.
