The fourth graders at Tenafly Chabad Academy had a great time in science learning about evaporation and condensation. One experiment had them using shaving cream to simulate a cloud. They then dropped food coloring drops into the “cloud.” The student scientists saw that while a small amount of moisture would stay in the cloud, as the drops got larger it started to “rain.” They also did an experiment where they put hot water in a bowl with a plate on top of it. They then put ice on top of the plate and saw how the water vapor from the bowl turned to droplets when it hit the cold plate.
