In anticipation of Election Day, BPY celebrated the right to vote. Elementary school students dressed in red, white and blue, made their way to the voting booth to make a democratic vote about which dessert to have at the BPY Thanksgiving feast. Students learned about the election process and now have a better understanding of the power of making their voices heard.
Middle school also participated in their civic duty as they elected their own representatives. On Monday, BPY held a student council election. After petitioning to run, candidates proudly campaigned for a week. Before going to the voting booths, each candidate had a chance to share a campaign video. Everyone had great ideas about how they would improve their classmates’ middle school experience. It is important as a voter to be educated about candidates and their goals. Everyone cannot wait to see the amazing things that the new elected representatives will do this year!
