This past week, Westchester Day School students have been collecting essential food and household items to give to local residents who need them. This event was organized by the weekly WDS eighth grade chesed elective, led by Morah Rachel Blumenthal, instructor of middle school Navi and sixth grade dean. Understanding that there are people who don’t have access to food for their Thanksgiving meal, the students in the elective chose to organize a drive to raise food and household items. Especially around the holiday season, these supplies are in high demand. From the youngest students in preschool through the eighth grade class, the whole community worked together to supply canned vegetables, pasta, toiletries, snacks and so much more!
