Heichal junior and freshman talmidim enjoyed an invigorating and inspirational Shabbos weekend in Teaneck and Bergenfield this past weekend. Shabbos began with davening at Beth Abraham, followed by dinner and a beautiful and uplifting tish led by Mashgiach Ruchani Rav Daniel Schwechter. The evening was packed with lively singing and divrei Torah from various talmidim and rabbeim, including Judaic Studies Principal Rabbi Avi Oberlander, Rabbi Jason Finkelstein, freshman talmid Yitzchak Wertentheil and junior talmid Akiva Sheinbein. On Shabbos morning the boys enjoyed a spirited davening and lavish kiddush at the home of sophomore Abie Jacoby, followed by meals at their hosts. Shabbos continued with seuda shlishis and a moving Havdala, with the junior class hosted by Rav and Rebbetzin Stechler and the freshman class at the home of Ami Forman. After Havdala, the talmidim all joined in singing and dancing in true Heichal style and continued on for a melave malka with learning, pizza and basketball to round off the lively weekend heading into Chanukah.
