MDS 7G Partners for ‘Shabbat Project 24/7’

MDS girls in 7G began the week with a beautiful and meaningful breakfast celebrating the culmination of their bat mitzvah year. Seventh grade students joined together with their mothers to hear words of Torah, and participate in a chesed project to mark this milestone. Mrs. Fine and Dr. Kletenik shared words of Torah and inspiration about becoming a bat mitzvah and entering this chapter of life in Judaism. Shira S. represented the class and shared a relatable theme from this week’s parsha. Ora Rapfogel, class mom, spoke on behalf of the parents, expressing hakarat hatov to the school for nurturing their daughters to this point and introduced the chesed project. Everyone made bears and notes for Shabbat Project 24/7, an organization that provides hospital rooms with Shabbat care kits. At the conclusion of the breakfast each student received a beautiful set of the five megillot as a bat mitzvah gift from MDS. It was a joyous and fun morning to mark an important milestone.
