On Thursday evening, November 5, Young Israel of Fort Lee will host the inaugural Dr. David Zigelman Memorial Lecture. Dr. David Zigelman was a longtime member of the Young Israel of Fort Lee and a beloved pediatrician who cared for multiple generations of children throughout Bergen County. Dr. Zigelman passed away suddenly one year ago and his presence has been sorely missed at YIFL as well as in his medical practice.
Among his many admirable traits, Dr. Zigelman had a never-ending thirst for knowledge and thus it was a natural decision for his family to honor his memory by sponsoring the Dr. David Zigelman Memorial Lecture.
The speaker at this year’s lecture is Herb Keinon. Mr. Keinon is the Diplomatic Correspondent for The Jerusalem Post, a paper he has been writing for for nearly three decades. In addition to writing about his travels with prime ministers and other dignitaries, Keinon also pens a popular monthly “light” column on life in Israel. A collection of these columns, French Fries in Pita, was published in October 2014.
On November 5, at 7:00 p.m., Keinon will speak on the topic of “Is It as Bad as It Appears? A non-sensationalist look at Israel’s current state of affairs.” The lecture is open to the entire community, with more information available by calling the synagogue office at 201-592-5970 or going online to www.yiftlee.org. YIFL is located at 1610 Parker Avenue in Fort Lee.
