Frisch Cougars Open Season With a Blast

The Frisch Cougars JV team has gotten off to a great start, winning their first three games against Maor, Ramaz, and Heschel.

In the first game against Maor, the Cougars started out strong with an early lead and a lot of momentum. However, Maor made a run and put the pressure on Frisch going into halftime. But the Cougars came out of the break with aggressive play and took a commanding lead and a large margin win with a final score of 64-22.

The second game against Ramaz was more of a challenge. With an intense environment at the Ramaz court, the Cougars felt the pressure. But, once again the Cougars started out aggressive and strong. The Rams made a run of their own, and brought the game within 5 points. After a well-placed time out for Frisch, the Cougars stepped it up and never let go of their lead. The Cougars went on to a 62-45 win over the Rams.

The third game of the season was the Cougars’ home opener. The evening began with the raising of the banner from last year’s championship season. The players from last year’s team were called up by coach Dovey Forman, and the three captains from that team, Yisroel Solomon, Isaac Laifer and Mark Abromovitz lowered the banner. With high expectations from the previous championship season, the Cougars felt the need to perform well. Right from the start, the Cougars took the lead and never let go. They put up an astounding 72 points, and held the Heat to 44.

This has been a great start for the Cougars, and they look to capture their fourth win this week against JEC.
