Yeshivat Noam Early Childhood Students prepare for their Thanksgiving feast and learn about Native Americans with a wide range of multisensory experiences. A few of these experiential activities include: full body weaving, making dreamcatchers, husking corn, writing pictorial stories, building and playing “tomtoms” (handmade drums), preparing lentil soup and baking pumpkin muffins. Throughout this time they were called by their Native American names such as “colorful butterfly” and “wild turkey.” Additionally, in each class the students spent time discussing and documenting in fun and creative ways what they are thankful for.
