JKHA to Host Open House Family Fun Day

The Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy in Livingston, NJ will be hosting an Open House Family Fun Day for prospective and current JKHA families. Taking place on Sunday, December 6, the event will offer a fun-filled, action packed and Chanukah-themed morning, along with opportunities to explore the first-rate Judaic and general studies education it provides.

Families can learn about the school’s innovative affordability initiatives including the unprecedented middle income tuition cap, and the Bonim community growth program that offers up to $50,000 of benefits. The benefits include up to $25,000 off of tuition and $12,500 in synagogue benefits for those who move to the towns of Livingston, Parsippany, Springfield and West Orange, New Jersey. The Greater Metrowest Day School Initiative through Federation is also awarding grants of $1800 to each family moving to the area and enrolling their children in a Jewish day school, on top of the incentives already being offered by JKHA/RKYHS.

All new families who attend the event will be entered to win a $5,000 credit towards tuition. Current families that attend the event will be eligible to win a $1,000 credit towards tuition. Additional prize opportunities will be available to all attendees.

The morning will kick off with registration at 10:00 a.m. accompanied by a delicious breakfast. The fun will continue with entertainment for the whole family, including Chanukah-themed crafts, numerous chesed activities, Drum Tales interactive drum performance, a scavenger hunt, “Judah and the Maccabees training” and much more. Attendees will have the opportunity to tour the state-of-the-art campus and meet the dedicated faculty. Lunch will also be served.

The combination of the school’s reputation for academic excellence and commitment to affordability has led to a surge in enrollment at the school. In the past year, the school fielded countless inquiries from new families, increasing to 233 from 84 the previous year. And parents who visited liked what they saw, with a 227% increase in enrollment from new inquiries—resulting in a 47% increase in new families for the 2015-16 school year.

“Building on the success of the event last year, JKHA wanted to ensure that our open house is an enjoyable event for the whole family to attend,” said Debbie Finkelstein, Principal of JKHA. “From our family activities, to our tuition incentives, both new and current JKHA families can look forward to a fulfilling and meaningful day of fun with the family.”
