Pesach preparations were in full swing at Westchester Day School as students from ganon through eighth grade spent the days leading up to the chag learning and exploring! Ganon students learned Pesach songs, practiced crossing the Yam Suf, crafted their own afikomen bags, made Seder plates, reenacted the Pesach story in full costume and compiled their own Haggadahs to name just a few activities. Kindergarteners even got to reenact Yetziat Mitzraiym on the beautiful WDS waterfront. In elementary school, students discussed different minhagim of Pesach, learned about various halachot and thoroughly explored the text of the Haggadah. They even had a visit from Rabbi Mitchell Serels who taught students in fourth-eighth grade about Sepharadic minhagim for Pesach. Students are excited and prepared for a meaningful holiday!
