After winning two of the last three matches, the team hoped to continue their winning streak. They needed to capture this game in order to secure a spot in the playoffs. But the girls lost, dropping to 2-4. Playing well in spots, they struggled to string together more than 3 consecutive points all match, accomplishing this only four times. The girls improved their team play over recent matches, but the offensive drop off suggests fatigue setting in, after playing two other matches this week.
The team worked hard all day with several exciting team saves, allowing only 9 balls to fall onto their court untouched and managing 3 blocks. The score does not reflect how much closer the play was for points. RKYHS players performed well enough to stay in the points with Frisch, although unable to win them. Kushner points scored on service aces (7) and spike kills (7) dropped dramatically. Despite the loss, these Cobras want to keep alive their hopes for a playoff run this year. The next match is on Dec 23—against this same Frisch team. (via Facebook).
