(WDS sports) Westchester Day School had its own taste of March Madness this past Sunday, when they hosted their first ever two-on-two basketball tournament for fifth-eighth graders. All students were invited to play along with a parent, family member, friend or WDS alum. There were two brackets, one for girls and another for boys, with 20 teams competing for the championship! The teams proudly played in tournament T-shirts with fans filling the stands. The games were competitive, but fun and most importantly sportsmanship and menschlichkeit were on full display. Thank you to the coaches for overseeing the elimination rounds, and parent and student volunteers who helped with registration, and sold snacks and spirit wear as part of a fundraiser. All in all, the tournament was a slam dunk which WDS will be sure to offer again.
