Jewish Family Service of MetroWest NJ (JFS) is continuing to offer a free parenting series, The Parent Academy, for parents of children of varying ages, throughout the 2022-2023 school year.
The next Parent Academy, “Teens Under Pressure,” will be taking place virtually via Zoom at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, March 27. This workshop will focus on the pressures teens face today: perfectionism, self-esteem, academic achievements and peer pressure. The goal is to empower parents with practical strategies to help their teens build resilience and utilize skills for independent, emotionally healthy development. The workshop will explore what parents can do to strengthen their relationships with their teens and support them through their teenage years.
The parenting series is facilitated by Kristin Dunne, LCSW. Kristin is a clinician at JFS & has been working with children and families for over 15 years. Through Kristin’s knowledge of developmental, trauma and attachment-based frameworks, she helps children, adolescents and families work on healthy social and emotional maturity, enhanced communication abilities and age-appropriate coping skills.
