Another Day in ‘Palestine’

Welcome to another day in “Palestine,” where 67 percent of the population favors the recent use of knife attacks and the murder of Israelis. Why aren’t the pro-BDS liberals crying out in condemnation of such a position?

The poll, conducted by an outfit called the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research, also found that 79 percent of Palestinians back continued attacks on Israeli soldiers.

This survey tops it off with what it cites as a growing majority rejecting a two-state solution and two thirds of those polled demanding the resignation of PA President Mahmoud Abbas.

So, for all of those wide-eyed pro-BDS members, many who are members of our community, here’s what you should learn from this recent Palestinian poll. You can push BDS as much as you want. But it’s not BDS that the Palestinian street sees as the way to create a Palestinian-only state. Drawing Israeli blood instead of writing resolutions of peace seems to be the direction Palestinians are taking.

It’s with such cruel irony that many liberal Jews who support BDS, because they see it as a non-violent way to “end the occupation,” can now look at polling done by Palestinians that puts it all there on the table. A knife is perhaps now more impactful than refusing to buy Israeli produce.

More than 20 Jews have been killed by these violent terrorist attacks.

So, the next time you are at the grocery store and you see Israeli products on the shelves, or while shopping in a department store or Jewish book and gift shop, we urge you to purchase products made in Israel. It’s important.

In the meantime, we hope that the world can see that the Palestinians aren’t really interested in BDS, because it doesn’t do what the Palestinian public wants it to do, and that’s to use brutality with some misplaced fanatical thought that treachery will doom Israel.

No, quite frankly, the Palestinians only dig themselves deeper into the quicksand of hopelessness, pushing themselves further away from peace and an independent nation-state. There is a peace table. Israel is sitting there waiting. For the Palestinians, diplomacy is replaced by knives. Their own poll said so.

Welcome to another day in “Palestine.”
