Ma’ayanot biology students had an “eggcellent” time learning about genetics. As a culmination of the ninth grade biology classes completing the unit of genetics, the students worked on a group project researching a genetic condition and caring for an egg (not hard boiled!) for a few days and educating their family and friends about the disease they were studying. They researched the genetic condition in advance before the egg babies arrived. The students then decorated, made a carrier and gave names to their eggs.
At the end of the three weeks all of the students will have compiled all their knowledge, data and personal logs on a Google website or slides to present and share with their peers.
