RKYHS Hires Genevieve Gramatica As New Tennis coach

Genevieve Gramatica enters her first season as the 2016 boys and girls head tennis coach at the Rae Kushner Yeshiva High School. Gramatica is the eldest daughter of Nestor Gramatica Senior, who was a former National Singles Champion and Davis Cup Team Member of Thailand. Nestor had the honor of becoming the first Asian net-man to compete at an international tennis tournament in Israel.

Prior to her arrival at Kushner, Gramatica was a former collegiate assistant tennis coach at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD and a USTA Adult League Coordinator for the Mid-Atlantic Section. During her coaching career at Johns Hopkins (2008-2012), Gramatica helped guide the Blue Jays to one of the most successful seasons in program history in 2012. Hopkins claimed its sixth straight Centennial Conference title and advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals for the first time ever. The Blue Jays won a then school-record of 18 matches, and finished the season ranked 11th in the nation.

A girls varsity starter since freshman year, Gramatica helped lead Newark Academy (Livingston, NJ) to Essex County and New Jersey state titles for four consecutive years (1996-1999). She then played tennis for Penn State University and graduated in 2005 with a major in science and a minor in health policy administration. As a junior competitor, Gramatica was ranked in the top 40 of the USTA Eastern Division.

Gramatica is currently a USPTA certified teaching professional and USTA tournament director at West Orange Tennis Club (WOTC). Gramatica is also the head director, coaching alongside her father, of Gramatica Tennis LLC. The family business has been in season for 30+ years as a year-round Junior Development Tennis Training Program at WOTC.
