TABC won “Best Creative Interpretation of a Scene” at this year’s Envision Shakespeare competition. In addition, senior Ariel Wallen won “Best Supporting Actor” for his performance of three different characters. The judges were particularly impressed with the TABC students’ ability to work together as an ensemble cast. Senior Akiva Schild, who won “Best Actor” last year at Envision Shakespeare, returned this year as student director. In addition to Ariel and Akiva, the cast included senior Judah Belgrade and juniors Ilan Nissel and Alex Weinberg.
Envision Shakespeare is an annual competition across Jewish day schools. Each participating school is assigned one scene from a Shakespeare play to cast and rehearse independently. In the spring, teams gather at a host school for an incredible day of performances, theater workshops, and Shakespeare trivia.
