(Courtesy of Israel Bonds) On March 28, Israel Bonds Englewood held their annual reception to honor three outstanding couples from Congregation Ahavath Torah, East Hill Synagogue and Congregation Shomrei Emunah.

Community leadership includes Esther Lerer, Englewood Community Chair; and Event Chairs Mark Finkel and Dr. Ronald Strobel. Approximately 150 people attended, resulting in over $2.5 million of investments and indications of interest in Israel bonds.

The Israel Unity Award was presented to each of these distinguished honorees: Gail and Joseph Goldman, Congregation Ahavath Torah; Dr. Stacy and Dr. Ken Rosenzweig, East Hill Synagogue; and Letha and Dr. Raphael Levine, Congregation Shomrei Emunah. Congregants, family, friends and colleagues were there to recognize and celebrate the exceptional support these honorees have in strengthening Israel’s economic development.

The keynote speaker was Asaf Romirowsky, Middle East historian and political commentator. Dr. Romirowsky holds a Ph.D. in Middle East and Mediterranean studies from King’s College London, and has been published widely on various aspects of the Arab-Israeli conflict and American foreign policy in the Middle East, as well as on Israeli and Zionist history.
