(Courtesy of OU) The Orthodox Union (OU), the nation’s largest Orthodox Jewish umbrella organization, is pleased to welcome Daniel Lowy of New York’s Upper West Side to the OU’s Board of Directors. Lowy is among 14 new OU Board Members from across the U.S. and Canada elected to a two-year term.
Lowy is Founder and CEO of EMU Health, an outpatient clinic. His communal involvements include Board affiliations with Teach NYS, a project of the Orthodox Union; Manhattan Day School; West Side Institutional Synagogue; and CUNY School of Public Health Foundation. Lowy is originally from Sydney, Australia.
The OU Board is responsible for determining the OU’s mission and vision; ensuring strong fiduciary oversight and financial management; fundraising and resource development; and monitoring and assessing the OU’s programs and services. Board members also serve as advisers to the OU’s various departments.
