Lubavitch on the Palisades students continued their unit on the body with a focus on dental hygiene. Teachers welcomed dentists to their classrooms, who taught the children about teeth and showed them different instruments they use to treat their patients. Children were engaged in innovative hands-on activities such as flossing dirt (play-dough) from teeth (Lego); using toothbrushes (sponge on a popsicle stick) to scrub food particles (dry erase markers) off of a laminated picture of teeth; painting with toothpaste (white paint) to make the teeth bright; and conducting experiments to show the effects of artificial coloring, sugars and carbonation on our teeth.
