Many individuals haven’t worn tefillin in years—or ever, but since they joined this special group, they wouldn’t miss it. The Tefillin WhatsApp chat, created in honor of a refuah sheleima for Tzvi Aryeh Ben Necha Zissel, simply asks its over 1300 global participants to post pictures of themselves wearing their tefillin each day. Participants are then automatically entered into a raffle for great prizes daily, ranging from small Amazon gift cards to front row tickets to various national sporting events. On Sunday, 150 members of the chat met at the American Dream mall to daven and celebrate together. Don Ghermezian, CEO of American Dream, welcomed and inspired the participants, and treated them all to a great breakfast, amazing prizes and a day at the amusement park at no cost.
