The fifth grade students of JKHA have been studying multiple civilizations from ancient history. This past month, students showcased and sharpened their skills with The Legacy Research Project. Designed to hone students’ research skills, the Legacy Research Project also provided an introduction to new research tactics as fifth graders prepare to meet the expectations of research in the Middle School. Students completed research papers and prepared speeches, which they presented in front of family and friends. Dressed as their chosen historical figures—such as Ramses, Tutankhamun, Socrates, Archimedes—students assumed the mantles of their ancient personas and taught the audience about their valued legacies.
