Shomer Shabbat Brownie Troop #96887 Celebrates Nutrition

Local Daisy and Brownie Troop # 96887 met last week to hear a presentation from Gila C. Guzman JD, CINHC on “Eating the Rainbow,” a fun and interactive way to learn about nutrition.

To “eat the rainbow” means to choose a different color fruit or vegetable at each meal and snack of the day. The goal is to eat five different colors every single day. The children learned that each color supports a different part of their body and that all colors are necessary for optimal health.

The troop is a shomer Shabbat troop with approximately 30 girls ranging from kindergarten through second grade. The troop is graciously hosted by Shaare Tefilah of Teaneck.

Past troop activities include a visit to TD Bank and TVAC, teamwork activities and other guest speakers. The troop is led by volunteers Judith Bachman, Kate Davis, Leda Rockoff, Ilana Sperling and Liz Mitrani.
