Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

As part of their extraordinarily impressive final Project Based Learning unit, the eighth graders were tasked with designing a Holocaust museum. Inspired by the knowledge they acquired in both their history and English classes, their own extensive research, as well as their trip to the Holocaust museum in Washington, they created a museum that far exceeded all expectations.

A group of students then developed an inspiring and moving Yom HaShoah ceremony that highlighted the museum. The students performed at two different ceremonies, one for parents on the eve of Yom HaShoah and the other, for the students of grades five through seven, which took place on Yom HaShoah day. The ceremony was a passionate, emotional and unique way to acknowledge Yom HaShoah, remember the victims and honor the survivors.
