RPRY Students Reflect on Yom HaShoah

On Thursday May 5, 2016, students at Rabbi Pesach Raymon Yeshiva in Edison, New Jersey commemorated Yom HaShoa (Holocaust Remembrance Day) with special programming. Students dressed in white and black to mark the day.

Grades 3 and 4 gathered for an assembly organized by Mrs. Chaya Friedmann, Director of General Studies. Students lit candles in memory of the six million Jews murdered by the Nazis and class representatives read excerpts from diaries of children who lived during that dark time.

Students in RPRY Middle School watched “Daniel’s Story,” a short film produced by the Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C. Afterward, they toured a Holocaust-themed exhibit created by students themselves. As they visited the exhibit, those who had worked on the presentations answered questions and posted personal reflections on large boards scattered throughout the exhibit.
