Ma’ayanot commemorated Yom HaShoah with a full day of meaningful programming. After morning tefillah, students experienced a moment of silence and they dedicated the day’s Torah learning to the memory of Holocaust victims from their own families. Students also slowly and contemplatively walked through a student-created Yom HaShoah Exhibition, and they participated in a kumsitz at which students and teachers shared stories about the Shoah that are personally meaningful to them. Finally, the entire Ma’ayanot community had the privilege of hearing from Holocaust survivor Mrs. Bronia Brandman, who movingly told her miraculous story of survival from Auschwitz.
