RKYHS participated in a number of different programs to commemorate Yom Hazikaron beginning with a limmud mishnayot, the learning of Mishna to commemorate fallen soldiers, after which there was a musical ceremony recounting stories of people who gave their lives for the State of Israel. At the end of the day, the students heard from alumnus Jacob Koenigson, RKYHS ‘11, who shared details about his recent experiences serving in the IDF. The 11^th grade students then shared a series of letters written by IDF soldiers and the students viewed a video commemorating the soldiers that lost their lives in Operation Protective Edge.
