RKYHS seniors had a special day visiting two different Torah communities. The senior boys took a trip to Crown Heights to visit the Lubavitch community. They heard Rabbi Manis Friedman speak about the chassidic approach to the purpose of doing mitzvot and what it means to serve Hashem. They then toured the Lubavitch Yeshiva at 770 Eastern Parkway, enjoyed a delicious lunch and visited a local sofer.
The senior girls visited the Beit Midrash of Stern College for Women. Shoshana Schechter, assistant dean of Torah Studies and Spiritual Life, addressed the girls and spoke about the importance above all of building a relationship with Hashem, and how Torah is the vehicle for that relationship. Students also had a learning session in the Stern beit midrash, and they were visited by RKYHS alumni who stopped by in-between classes. The students also had the opportunity to eat lunch at a local kosher establishment and participated in a scavenger hunt around midtown. The RKYHS seniors enjoyed the day and were uplifted by the spirit and enthusiasm of communities they encountered.
