Did you know all the parts used to make a Torah come from living things? The children at Iris Berman Early Childhood Center in Livingston explored a Torah with Rabbi Rosenblum in anticipation of Shavuot. They first felt the animal skin used to make the parchment, then inspected the text written on the parchment and felt the raised letters. They used quills to write with ink the way a sofer would. Finally, the children viewed the inside and the outside of the whole Torah.
