It was a very intense game. SAR and Ma’ayanot played for the JV soccer championship at Frisch. The last time these two faced, it ended in a tie. The championship battle felt like a 12-round match in a ring. The team that was the most persistent and hungry would prevail.

Danit Forman knocked in the first goal in the first period unassisted. Freshman captain Penina Krischer scored in the second period. SAR scored in the third period giving them a big morale booster. Rapids goalie, Kate Weinberg protected her team’s goal with supreme focus and determination with save after save. She always remained completely poised.

The game ended with a Ma’ayanot win, 2-1; the Rapids became the female soccer champs of the Metropolitan Yeshiva Athletic League.
