The Rae Kushner Yeshiva High School Senior Sessions program hosted Ms. Sara Frieberg, the JLIC educator from Rutgers University. Senior Sessions is designed to educate the senior class on issues which are relevant to them as they enter the next phase of their lives.

The idea behind the OU’s JLIC (Jewish Learning Initiative on Campus), is to help Orthodox students navigate the college environment, and balance their Jewish commitments with their desire to engage the secular world. Ms. Frieberg spoke about the different challenges, as well as avenues for spiritual development and exploration for Jewish students from varied backgrounds. Issues such as Sabbath observance, kashrut and davening were discussed. One scenario she posed was what if a professor schedules an exam on Yom Tov, what do you do? A question and answer session concluded her remarks.
