Nine Bergen Chabad Centers To Sponsor Hakhel/Unity Dudu Fisher Concert on July 6th

Social media has brought the world together in an unprecedented way. Yet, for the Jewish people, global unity is not something new. In ancient Biblical times, the entire Jewish nation would convene once every seven years for ‘Hakhel’ – a unity gathering in Jerusalem on the Sukkos festival at which the Torah would be read to the entire assembly.

While ‘Hakhel’ is no longer formally in effect, the spirit of this beautiful mitzvah (which occurs this year on the Jewish calendar) has inspired the nine local Chabad centers in Bergen & Hudson counties to join together for a first-ever Hakhel Unity Concert on the evening of Wednesday, July 6th at BPAC in Englewood.

“Our county is home to over 90,000 Jewish people” said Rabbi Ephraim Simon of the Teaneck Chabad House. “We wanted a Jewish singer whose music genre would unite our diverse community. Dudu Fisher is one of the most talented and evocative voices on the Jewish music scene today who will undoubtedly produce an evening filled with high quality entertainment and inspiration” Simon said.

Tickets are offered at prices between $25 and $45 for regular admission or $90 for preferred seating and access to the pre-concert meet and greet with Dudu Fisher. Tickets may be purchased at www.BergenPAC.org or by calling 201-227-1030.
